Add Your Name To Stop Anti-LGBTQ Laws

Rev. Dr. Debra Haffner | March 31, 2016

Anti-LGBTQ GraphicIn the last few weeks, there have been numerous state-based attempts to pass legislation that would allow discrimination against LGBTQ people, and specifically, transgender people.

Throughout the country more than 175 anti-LGBTQ bills have been filed in 32 states – North Carolina and Georgia being the most recent of these efforts. Too often these anti-LGBTQ efforts have been perpetrated in the name of religion.

People of faith must speak out as state legislatures attempt to target transgender people and to restrict justice, dignity, and equality for all LGBTQ people. Discrimination is not a religious value.

I am inviting you to sign on today to tell your public and elected officials to reject attempts to enshrine discrimination against LGBTQ and, specifically, transgender people in the law.

This letter – which is being organized by the Religious Institute – will be delivered to the governors and state legislatures in every state where anti-LGBTQ or anti-transgender legislation is being considered, beginning with North Carolina and Georgia.

Please join us in speaking out against this legislation – and for a world that embodies justice for people of all gender identities and sexual orientations.
