Auburn Seminary President the Rev. Dr. Katharine Henderson responds to Supreme Court Ruling on Texas vs U.S.

NEW YORK – The Supreme Court’s split decision in Texas vs U.S. undermines a core value of our country – welcoming the stranger. Every major world religion is built on the story of migration. Jesus was a migrant. The migration of the Prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina is foundational to the Muslim faith. Our humanity has been best expressed when we welcome the immigrant. Justice delayed is justice denied. We must choose and support leaders for our nation that are willing to take action in ensuring fair and humane treatment for all who are being pushed into the shadows of our society.
