Crazy Dream

A film by Bob Richman

Crazy Dream will follow a multicultural group of African-American, Asian, Hispanic and Caucasian musicians who are on a mission.  The musicians now travel the world as cultural ambassadors for the U.S. State Department, building bridges in far-flung and sometimes dangerous regions where there is little exposure to American culture and vice versa.  Their band name is Blended 328. The number is in reference to Galatians 3:28, which proclaims that everyone is equal in God’s eyes.  According to the filmmakers, the band members are spiritual and passionate about promoting the values of equality and inclusion.

In each country they visit, the band members not only perform main stage events but also  lead youth empowerment and social inclusion workshops and master music classes, with all access arranged and provided by American embassy personnel.  Last year, in Pakistan’s infamous border region, as an Imam announced a fatwah against them, they took the stage as the first American musicians and the first woman to perform in Kashmir.  An audience of ten thousand Pakistanis were in attendance.
