NEW YORK — Today, Auburn Seminary announced the addition of two top-notch professionals to help continue the organization’s work to equip leaders of faith and moral courage. Auburn President the Rev. Dr. Katharine R. Henderson welcomed Frederick Joseph as chief communications officer, and Cedric E. Edmundson as chief finance and administration officer. Joseph and Edmundson are recognized and distinguished leaders in their respective fields.

Frederick Joseph is an award-winning marketing professional and media advocate with over a decade of marketing experience. Joseph created the largest GoFundMe campaign in history, the #BlackPantherChallenge, which raised over $950,000 and allowed more than 75,000 children worldwide to see the movie “Black Panther.” He is also the winner of the 2018 Comic-Con Humanitarian of the Year award, a Forbes Under 30 list maker for Marketing and Advertising and a member of the 2018 “Root 100″ list of most influential African Americans. Additionally, Joseph has written about marketing, race and representation for USA Today, Huffington Post and NowThisNews.

“Frederick Joseph brings his keen marketing skills and media expertise to help Auburn reach new and bigger audiences with our message,” said Henderson. “His leadership and expertise will help build new strength during this critical period in our nation’s history and as the least among us face the greatest assaults on their dignity and human rights.”

With more than 25 years of financial experience in both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, Cedric E. Edmundson is adept at aligning organizational mission and values with fiduciary responsibilities and administrative requirements. During his successful and distinguished career, Edmundson was nominated by KPMG and Grant Thornton as the top CFO in their audit business sector.

“Cedric Edmundson brings both professional expertise and a passion for our mission to Auburn,” said Henderson. “He will help ensure that we have the right resources in the right place so we can maximize Auburn’s impact.”
