Rev. angel Kyodo williams Sensei

Rev. angel Kyodo williams Sensei is the founder of the Center for Transformative Change in Berkeley. She builds presence-centered social justice movements and sparks national conversations about how transforming society is connected to transforming our inner lives. Her books include Radical Dharma (2016) and Being Black: Zen and the Art of Living With Fearlessness and Grace (2000). Rev. williams is a Zen priest, a Sensei, and a master teacher.

Rev. williams Sensei was named a religious leader to watch in 2019 by the Center for American Progress.

As faith continues to be so often co-opted as an excuse to push forward discriminatory policies and practices, progressive faith leaders such as the Rev. williams are necessary to boldly, thoughtfully, and sustainably fight for justice for all.”
