A Seat At The Table
Dear Beloved Community,
This Thanksgiving, we are grateful for you and all you do in your families and communities to set a table that is truly welcoming. We give thanks for your partnership with Auburn as you stand for justice with love, and help to overcome the spirit of division and hate that afflicts our nation.
May we be ever more aware of who is missing from our tables, and committed to making space for all those excluded for too long. We remember our neighbors, made in God’s image, who are homeless, hungry, outcast, and hopeless today. We recommit ourselves to a world where all can flourish and experience the dignity they deserve.
May you be welcomed for exactly who you are at whatever table you find yourself this Thanksgiving, and may you find strength and joy for the journey ahead.
Blessings,
The Rev. Dr. Katharine Rhodes Henderson
