Leadership Development

The bridge between where your organization has been and where it’s going – that’s you.

Connecting Generations

Every organization today is navigating the same tension: how do we honor what got us here while making room for what comes next? Mid-career leaders carry that question every single day.

Program Overview

Auburn Seminary's Connecting Generations program is built specifically for leaders who are holding both ends of that tension. Through a four-day immersive experience, including a leadership simulation, individual coaching, and deep cohort work, you'll develop the generational fluency, relational skills, and personal grounding to lead across difference with clarity and grace. Because the most important work you'll do isn't choosing a side. It's holding the whole.

Intentionally crafted for faith leaders ages 40-55, the participants of our Connecting Generations program experience:

  • A cross-generational leadership simulation that surfaces real dynamics and builds practical

    skills

  • Individual coaching focused on navigating organizational complexity and generational differences.

  • Cohorts of 16–20 mid-career peers across sectors, traditions, and generational identities.

  • Curated reading materials on generational leadership, organizational culture, and identity.

  • 90-day post-intensive support, including facilitated peer check-ins and resource access.

Signs this program is the right fit for you:

You are regularly caught between the expectations of senior leaders and the needs or frustrations of emerging leaders on your team.

You are struggling to retain or engage younger staff who seem to want something different from their leadership than previous generations did.

You are finding that your organization's culture is shifting in ways that require you to adapt their leadership style and not quite knowing how.

You are carrying significant institutional memory and beginning to think about how to pass it on without simply replicating the past.

You are feeling the weight of a leadership role that asks you to be many things to many people and are craving a space to be simply yourself among peers who understand.

You are leading in nonprofit, faith-based, denominational, or mission-driven organizations where generational transition is reshaping the culture, the congregation, or the institution.

How often is the program offered?

Our Connecting Generations Program is offered twice each year, in the fall and spring, bringing participants together in New York. The Connecting Generations Launch is scheduled for Spring 2027.
