Charissa Simmons
Charissa serves as Canon for Intergenerational Ministry at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Portland, Oregon. She is passionate about helping children to articulate their innate sense of God's presence and loves to create opportunities for children and adults to experience and wonder about God together. Charissa holds a BA in biology from Pacific Lutheran University, a certificate in Christian Formation from the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest and is a trainer for the Godly Play Foundation.
Charissa enjoys working and relaxing in her large backyard full of fir trees, maintaining it as a certified Backyard Habitat. She has a special affection for moss, and for the Pacific chorus frogs and dragon flies who visit her pond. Charissa and her adult children are a formidable escape room team, and she is always on the lookout for a good novel.
