Joy Hailu
Hasset Shimeles Hailu is a recent graduate of Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary, where she earned a degree in Theology and Peace Studies. Her research engages liberation theology, feminist and womanist perspectives, and public theology, with a focus on peacebuilding and social justice in African and diasporic contexts. Originally from Ethiopia, she currently writes about how Christian ethics can address the spiritual and structural dimensions of conflict, extending from physical settings to digital spaces. Her work seeks to amplify marginalized voices, particularly those of women survivors, and to articulate how theology can contribute to healing, justice, and the prevention of violence. In addition to her scholarship, Hasset advocates for unity and justice through social media, engaging a large and diverse audience.
