Lauren Davis

Lauren Janelle Davis (she/they) currently serves as the Minister of Inclusion and Partnership at Second Baptist Church in Evanston, Illinois. She is also the curriculum coordinator for the Children, Youth, and Teens ministry. During the day, they serve as the Program Manager for Leadership at the Evanston Community Foundation. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education and Teaching from Spelman College.earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and Teaching Certification in Elementary Education from her beloved Spelman College. There, they were proud to be Lead of the Chapel Assistants and a two-time Women in Spiritual Discernment of Ministry (W.I.S.D.O.M.) Scholar. She is passionate about culturally relevant education, Black liberation, and community care. She centers her work and life around the disruption of systems that target those at the intersections of oppression. Their ministry focuses on these same principles; for they believe that those who are being blocked from God's love, are too, God's beloved. Lauren is also a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. In their free time, Lauren likes resting on the beaches of Lake Michigan, baking, building legos, and spending time with loved ones — especially her dog, Zuko.
