Sandra Soto

National Program Director of the Winks Initiative

Sandra Soto is the National Program Director of the Winks Initiative at Auburn Theological Seminary. Passionate about cultivating spaces of healing and transformation through meaningful connection, creative exploration, and radical imagination, Sandra’s vocation lies at the intersection of education, faith, and justice. She attributes her resilience and persistence to her Cuban-Italian immigrant lineage and her love for building bridges, smashing silos, and bringing people together to her many “in-between” identities.

Sandra is a teacher, healer, and organizer at heart and by training. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Boston University, master’s degree in Specialized Studies from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and certification in Spiritual Direction from Liberated Together. She also holds triple licensure in the state of Massachusetts in Elementary Education, English as a Second Language, and Mathematics.

Prior to joining Auburn, she had the opportunity to serve as the Director of Youth Development Programs at Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción following four years as a full-time public school teacher. Sandra co-founded Libraries for Liberation, a nonprofit organization that provides community education and brings antiracist books to neighborhoods across the nation.

Sandra lives in Boston, MA and is enjoying becoming deeply embedded in her local Roslindale community.
